Saving is done. I want a classic this time. Have had and sold my roxanne as it was too heavy and also have and still have a fitzrovia.

I want a bag that I will keep for ever in a colour that I can use with everything.

I am not that keen on the bayswater but I do like the bayswater tote.

Ledbury! Mine is Oak and I luff it.

gregssausageroll · 13/01/2012 21:18

Too like the bayswater treasure. Not keen but thank you.

I have the Somerset Tote in black. I love it, just the right size.

MrsSeanBean · 13/01/2012 21:22

Trouble is greggs, Bayswater is one of the true classics! Agree Somerset is nice as well.

MrsSeanBean · 13/01/2012 21:22

How about a cross body bag - Antony IIRC? Will try to get link, hang on...

MrsSeanBean · 13/01/2012 21:24

Antony - www.mulberry.com/#/storefront/search/507/moreviews/antony/

I bought the Evelina satchel earlier (have also been saving!). I was torn between that and the Effie satchel but decided to go for the bigger one so's I can cart all DD's junk about. If you're after a classic style then definitely the Bayswater.

Enjoy Smile

gregssausageroll · 13/01/2012 21:37

this is the one I like.

Somerset Tote or bella hobo in oak, but tbh i'd never spend more than £300+ on a handbag, as you simply don't have to. Plently of great makes out there without a tree logo which are as well made. Wink

lucidlady · 13/01/2012 21:47

The link doesn't work - which bag is it?

RichTeaAreCrap · 13/01/2012 21:56

I love the Tillie Tote - not my usual style of bag but I just love it.

MrsCampbellBlack · 13/01/2012 22:16

I am a bit over mulberry - love Anya Hindmarch more nowadays as they're lighter and just a bit nicer generally.

What colour are you after?

chipstick10 · 13/01/2012 22:26

I was never a fan of the Bays but hubby bought me one a couple of years back for my bday. Oak printed and i fell in love. Was never a hand held bag type of person, always a messenger bag type person but the Bays has converted me, i now have two. Also the Alexa is gorg. I was never really a fan of the Alexa but i relented and fell in love. I have the oak regular and its lovely. I agree i like the Bays tote, its very nice. Always go for a classic style and colour.

OneLieIn · 13/01/2012 22:34

Truthfully there is no bag that will be the one. Wink

Pseudonymity · 14/01/2012 00:56

Polly push lock and Alexa (not oversized) are my personal faves.

BornToShopForcedToWork · 14/01/2012 06:46

lucidlady I agree with you totally. The large Evelina is great. I do like the Bayswater as well.

gregssausageroll · 14/01/2012 08:24

Don't know what happened to my link. It is the bayswater tote so it doesn't have a fold over flap at the top.

I'd probably go for oak as it goes with eveerything.

Madame what would you suggest?

Will look at anja whatshername!

Thanks everyone. This is useful.

I was bought a Tillie tote for Christmas and I love it! Have an East West Bayswater too but the tote seems to take more of my stuff!

gregssausageroll · 14/01/2012 09:16

The tillie tote is nice but I am at a loss as to why the oak is £300 more expensive!

AutumnLady · 14/01/2012 09:46

No idea greggs there's no rhyme or reason that I could make out! I adore the tote which isn't my usual style, but is just fab :)

I got a mulberry oversized Alexa for my birthday in the conker colour it is absolutely beautiful and will go with everything I'm in love!!??????????

sphynx · 14/01/2012 20:40

I have been thinking about buying a regular black Alexa for many months now. As it is £££'s I have not bought it yet, but instead bought other bags to compensate, because they were cheaper. However I still keep thinking about the Alexa and can't ger it out of my head. I love the braided strap. Sometimes, I think it is better to spend more on 1 bag, rather than buying lots of different ones, which is what I should have done.

mysteryfairy · 14/01/2012 22:13

I have the regular black Alexa and am very happy with it. It goes with everything. I don't find it heavy so it should be an improvement on the Roxy.

I got a Bayswater satchel for Xmas - that could be a good option if you semi-like the Bayswater but also want a long strap. I absolutely love it and its now available in standard black, oak etc plus some lovely seasonal colours.

There is still some Winter sale stock available on Mulberry.com and in the stores. The oversized Alexa in conker mentioned above is absolutely beautiful and was reduced from £925 to £647 which is a pretty fab saving. Its showing oos on Mulberry at the moment but keeps coming back into stock - presumably as they get returns. Although it was a colour for this season it really is a classic looking colour. They also have the bayswater satchel in this colour for under £500.

You could also look at the variations on the Mitzy. They are discontinuing it so the classic colours are in the sale. I personally prefer the messenger to the hobo but you could also look at the east west which has both a long and short strap and is still available in black and oak.

I might need to get some new interests I think...
