Bare Escentuals vs Lily Lolo - Colour Match Please?

I am reacting to the price bizmuth in BE and have decided that my purse face would prefer Lily Lolo.

Which would be the best match if I am normally a medium beige in BE?

Contact lily by e-mail from their website - they will suggest a colour. They answered by email within few (working) hours

Thank you.

Ooh oh oh, if it is truly your purse and not your face, go on feelunique.com. I am super impressed by them got loadsa BE stuff with xmas money from 'em. I'm not keen on LL.

wandawings · 13/01/2012 08:11

Ah ok! I'll take a look there, thank you.

Barely Buff is what I use in LL and I am medium beige in BE.

I also order everything from Feel Unique, MUCH cheaper and free P and P.

Isn't it funny how different people swear by different products? I love LL but hated the BE because I found it too sparkly and couldn't get a good match.

I really recommend ordering quite a few of the tester pots to get a good match. Also recommend the LL kabuki brush, far softer and better application than my BE brush.

PinotVaggio · 13/01/2012 11:26

LL is superior to BE in every way, IMHO. I love it and their service is excellent.

valiumredhead · 13/01/2012 12:01

Once I got the right colour match with BE and used matte it was fantastic, up until then it was too ghostly and sparkly.

LL doesn't have the staying power I need but is very good value for the money. BE is massively over priced compared to LL.

LoveInAColdClimate · 13/01/2012 12:36

I switched from LL to BE and regrettably prefer BE, but think I'll be switching back soon as going on maternity leave. LL's brushes are amazing.

wandawings · 13/01/2012 21:02

Apparently I need In The Buff so I'm going to order a sample.

Thanks for all your help.

Why don't you use the LL brush with the BE product? I have mineral foundation from the Bodyshop and BE and like them both. The Bodyshop one is for summer when I have a bit of colour on my face and the BE one completely matches my skin colour at the moment. I just use the brush that I bought for the Bodyshop makeup.

wandawings · 13/01/2012 21:45

Oh yes, I was going to ask about TBS minerals. So would you recommend bunbaker?

Yes I would. A very obliging salesman in the shop made up my face and it looked really good. However, it was summer, we had had a nice spell and my face was a bit darker than it is now and he matched the colour to my skin. That colour is too dark for me to wear right now hence me buying another shade, but I bought BE instead to see what it was like.

Beauty experts say that if you can't see the foundation then you are wearing the right colour and I agree. I have never been a fan of wearing a shade or too darker on my skin because it looks too fake. I might even mix the two when the weather brightens up for an in between shade.

Great, you've confused even more now! Plenty to think about over the weekend.
