i have ALWAYS struggled with getting bras to fit my massive norks
i am around a 30DD and for one its nigh on impossible to get that size because manufacturers don't seem to believe a woman can be small but still have a large cup size Hmm but when i do they always end up hurting and digging in and then go all saggy in the wash anyway

anyway i heard genie bra's were amazing (ok ok i saw an infomercial when i was in the states a few months ago and was sucked in)

and i have invested in some from ebay, they came today. and my god. they are brilliant, soft, yet brilliant support, flattering, no back fat, no side fat, no digging in and they also hold them up really well

would STRONGLY recommend.

ooh.I'm going to check them out now (30FF).

hellymelly · 11/01/2012 14:19

Hmm,I looked but they don't seem to cater for bigger cup sizes.

MistyMountainHop · 11/01/2012 14:44

you would need a size small helly

i know that sounds weird but the cups stretch to accomodate even the biggest boobs, as i said, i am a 30dd and mine fit in easily, they would definitely stretch quite a bit bigger as its that kind of fabric iyswim

Oooh - interesting thread Grin

I'm a 38hh and just assumed they wouldn't work. Do they cater for my size?

TracyK · 11/01/2012 16:42

Do they give you a nice shape?

LemonDifficult · 11/01/2012 16:43

ooooooooh. thanks for the tip

miche8 · 11/01/2012 17:02

i saw a tv ad for these, does it give a nice shape? i don't want to flatten my chest. i've tried non wired bras before and they didn't give a nice shape, that a wired bra does.

Hairytoes · 11/01/2012 17:22

They look like you get no seperation though, don't you get a 'uniboob' effect?

PippiL · 11/01/2012 17:22

Oooh. Interested.

Off to google them.

HamblesHandbag · 11/01/2012 17:25

they are VERY comfy but, not a good shape IMHO. A bit soft and saggy.

But I prefer a lift and separate job.

PippiL · 11/01/2012 17:25

Hmmm, they look a bit... Like one of those adverts at the back of a Sunday supplement for old people bras.

But then I do find it really hard to find a comfortable bra at 32ff even in bravissimo.

jasperJohns · 11/01/2012 17:28

They are so unattractive.

HamblesHandbag · 11/01/2012 17:33

they are kind of like a maternity sleep bra.

jasperJohns · 11/01/2012 17:38

Yes! That's what they look like - my sleep bras I wore when bf.

I would have to be convinced that they give a good shape.

they give me a good shape, really flattering. not much cleavage though, if i went on a night out in a low cut top / dress, i would wear a cleavage boosting type bra just for the night. but under clothes, my norks look FAB!

OP posts:
MistyMountainHop · 11/01/2012 18:25

oh and they do separate the boobage as well.

and to the poster who asked if they would fit 38HH, they would, you would probably need medium or large though. i think there is a size guide online.

OP posts:
gregssausageroll · 11/01/2012 18:34

I was concerned about the one boob look with these.

I am a 34FF so not sure if one will fit bit will look agaiin.

TapselteerieO · 11/01/2012 19:17

30G here, not sure if they would fit, but I have a swollen rib cage and under-wired bras are awful to wear for me atm, are they available in shops? I would like to try one on before purchasing.

TapselteerieO · 11/01/2012 19:20

Review here I think the Ahh bra sounds like it is better.

Hairytoes · 11/01/2012 19:23

I don't understand the sizing either! I am 34 F, but can wear dresses from Phase 8 size 12, and go up to a size 20 in M&S for jumpers. Other places I wear a 14 a 16. Should I buy every single size??

HazleNutt · 11/01/2012 19:30

Good the bra fits and you're happy, most other reviews I've read tend to disagree though..

just wondering, where have you been looking for bras until now? 30DD is not massive and currently for example figleaves.com has 312 bras that size. if they hurt then it's probably not your correct size though. Have you been to Bravissimo for fitting?

PippiL · 11/01/2012 19:31

That review seems a bit biased in favour of the ahh bra.

Would I really be a size xl as I'm a 14 and 32ff?
Would be great for sleeping in at the very least, not to mention those days when you just can't face another underwire digging in.

MistyMountainHop · 12/01/2012 08:27

the ahh bra is pretty shit tbh, i have got one of those too

unflattering and lost its shape pretty quick. its ok for sleeping in though.

and hazle - i know, i saw some shit reviews of the genie bra but for me its brill

I bought these genie bras in boots after being reassured I can return them if rubbish. Those adverts had me curious but tried yesterday and they are rubbish for my 34FF chest, I suppose would be nice to sleep in. I will stick to industrious strength Freya bras, the relief of taking the bra off at night is worth it.
