Hi everyone - I am in court tomorrow for first access hearing with ex (violent to me and children). My solicitor said smart-casual but could anyone suggest an outfit type that would be good? I want to look good but not OTT and need to look like a mum rather than a businesswoman iyswim. I am bricking it so need a bit of confidence here - all help welcome! Thanks.

It all depends what is in your wardrobe :)

I've worn a black wrap jersey dress with a bright cardigan and have some tweedy smart trousers lined up for next time (not sure which top yet).

You need to feel comfortable.

I have mainly cords and jumpers for working on site so not really the thing Smile

I have some nice comfy tweedy smartish trousers so that is a thought. Also thought of grey tunic dress with black leggings and boots (flat)?? but is black and grey too dull and I will look like an odd gothic type? I think I am in danger of ovrthinkign this a bit Smile

No, black and grey is not too dull. Just try and look normal. Just not a pair of jeans with a diamante thong and some arse cleavage showing Smile and good luck

Have you got a blazer or suit jacket? Could be worn over a dress to avoid looking too businessy and great for projecting capable and confident.
