Mid-30s woman seeks clothes for return to work!!! Is it my imagination or am I actually going mad but where the heck are clothes aimed at women my age???? Honestly think there was more choice of maternity wear I liked.

Anyone who can shed any light will receive my eternal thanks!!!

Size?

Size 10-12 but tall. Wanted to spend up to £500 updating tops, knitwear, maybe couple of dresses/tunics/skirts as have lots of good trousers. Maximum budget though.....I've had two pretty much back to back maternity leaves (part of reason I want to look part as had some comments about my commitment, etc).
Work with university students.
Quite worried as I know you have exquisite taste tethers and could bankrupt me here!!!!!

Haha, don't worry, I buy all my own stuff on ebay; it's only when it's other people's money that I go to town

Have a look at the Hobbs outlet as a starting point. They often have big reductions and it's good quality, though you have to pick and choose as some of it is v weird and other stuff is brilliant. For basic trousers and skirts it should be fine - especially since you're tall.

For tops and knitwear, M&S Autograph sometimes has nice things. Ypu might also try Banana Republic and Cos, although I find them overpriced and not cut right for curvy little me!

Thanks guys.....given me some ideas to think about! Love that first dress, Tethers, although not sure if I think it's too expensive for work IYSWIM.

Am hoping to perfect the layered clothing look particularly as the heating situation leaves a lot to be desired.

Any more ideas are more than welcome. Glad to see that there are clothes out there that aren't just designed for either girls in their teens or women in their 60s and I can happily (unless I convince my husband otherwise) pack away the maternity clothes
