do you go for regulation black trousers and pumps or something more glam?

i'm starting back at work after my second maternty leave and need to overhaul my wardrobe. everyone else at school is a good 15+ years older than me and no real style icons Hmm

If leggins were banned at my school I'd be charging the head for a new load of 'bottoms' as they're almost all I ever wear! Only under dresses though. (For school anyway.)

Primary. Trousers (dark - brown or navy as black and I don't get on), smart t-shirts or blouses, smart cardigan or fitted jumper. Shoes are low-heeled ankle boot things. Trousers sometimes exchanged for cotton cord embroidered skirt worn with opaques and boots. Bought a cotton wrapover dress thing in the sales, again worn with opaques and boots or leggings and boots (dress is long, boots are long, don't think anyone is likely to comment on what it is that covers the 3 inches between).

I hate clothes shopping with a passion, and my main aim is to look utterly unobtrusive (spent my childhood being only too obtrusive in lumpy hand-knits and slightly strange home-made clothes). Can't be doing with accessories such as jewellery or scarves as they just flop and dangle and irritate. Mistral in the sale is my saviour - even their window display looks like a group of primary teachers in the staff room, and they do a lot of stuff in natural fibres (have funny skin)

I'm not a teacher but buy nice work clothes from TU at Sainsburys. Though I do wear quite short skirts/dresses with tights or leggings sometimes which might not be suitable for teachers!

They have some really nice knee length dresses at the moment for under £30.

I've got to update my wardrobe for supply teaching, so am on the lookout for knee length, long sleeved dresses to wear with tights and boots. Thanks ScaredyDog, will have a look Smile in Sainsburys.
