I have no idea what kind i should get. I dont have a waterproof warm jacket or a decent coat and think i need 1. I live in the north of scotland and its wet and cold. I have a leather jacket and a light rain jacket. Have been meaning to get a decent jacket for a couple of years but never get round to it. I did want a superdry but im too fat for them. Im a size 18 top.

oh do not get a superdry, just got one for my teen, sized for dolls as far as I am concerned not real people

I would go to the outdoors places, millets have their own brand of clothing that is reasonably priced and work well.I have a berghaus jacket that is fab, windproof and waterproof yet lightweight.I also have a barbour that is ancient but totally brill in really crap weather.

I was thinking about a bergaus so might go have a google for 1 of those

Why don't you have a look at Land's End.? Online.
Their sizing is pretty good, and so is their quality. The service is good too.
Being American they know about big sizes. No, that meant ALL sizes!
Very decent selection for serious bad weather clothing.

P.S.
Re. previous post. And you will not end up looking like the Michelin Man!

Sluttybuttons · 08/01/2012 19:56

Yeah michelin man is my concern lol. Im just so fussy with clothes and would rather go without than have something that made me look even bigger

I've just ordered a parka from La Redoute and I'm a size 18 on top and 16 on the bottom Grin. Hoping to get it this week but haven't been disappointed with La Redoute so far - fingers crossed it keeps me warm and looks OK!

EldonAve · 08/01/2012 20:06

Ooh I like the first two - very nice!

drowninginlaundry · 09/01/2012 07:59

you'd fit size 18 Didriksons Elly - which half the mumsnet seems to have bought - it's the euro size 44 and comes up large anyway.

Sluttybuttons · 09/01/2012 08:02

Ooooh really like that too
