just trying to get an idea - been having my hair cut in city centre manchester for convenience at Razors Edge but my hair is only short and I usually have a cut/blow dry truth is I just can't spend this amount every five weeks or so for a short cut so am looking at out of town salons which usually are a bit cheaper. What sort of prices do you pay for short cut and blow drys I am thinking really don't want to pay more than about £30 which seems to be achievable. Also are out of town salons as..well, good as the "Name" salons like Razors Edge, et al?

I personally ask someone who has a really good haircut where they had it done

I asked someone this recently and the answer was from a home hairdresser, charging only £20 to come to their home & this is in a very affluent area.My old hairdresser before I moved was a home one who was fab but charged pennies.

Ask around,it's the best way

Wash, cut and blow dry £24.
Out of town salon.

that sounds very reasonable. I'll have to make the change previously going to a city salon was a luxury and its one I'll have to sacrifice I'm afraid!

Often you are paying for the city centre location.
Worth having a word with local people you know whose hair looks nice.... People will be flattered. And take it from there.
You will soon find a good reasonably priced one.
