Been told that my heel bones are fused together and they can't operate!

I get a swollen ankle when I walk a lot so been advised to wear sensible flat lace ups that my orthotic can fit into.

Fashion death!

I have been wearing converse a lot or boots, as i dont have to dress up for work, but they arent supportive enough. I'm thinking of something like these for every day use, school run etc.

They are a bit functional though unless you have gazelle legs, which I don't. I like merrell too but they are a bit pricey unless there are some in the sale!

Help, anyone got any ideas?

Have thought about brogues, but I'm short with slightly chunky legs. Won't I look a bit mannish? Plus at the ripe old age of 34 I feel too old for them! All my friends in their 20s wear them!
