Hear tell that it's good.

Can someone 'compare' it to another brand for me - I can't get a 'feel' for it?

What's good about it (if indeed it is?)

I'd like to know, too. Whenever I pass the small selection in local John Lewis it looks drab. But I am willing to be persuaded otherwise...

I like the looks they put together on the website but irl it's mostly uninspiring and the quality is inconsistent. Expensive for what it is too, imho.

I bought some gorgeous bits from there last year but now it's all dishclothy Sad

Just bought a few really good bits in the sale at JL. I really like the simplicity and subtle details. But then I'm a bit of a minimalist. couldn't afford it full price though!

Not keen. I keep thinking I'll like their stuff but it is a bit flouncy and Per Una-ish.

They are a bit like Kaliko maybe. Or a bit like Kew but fussier. There's always one too many bits of detail on for my taste. Great cut in lairy pattern, or gorgeous fabric ruched to high heaven. Hackney Cabbage - I'm amazed you say it's minimalist. Whenever I look at it in John Lewis I'm struck by all the unnecessary bits. Maybe they do a wide range and our local JL fashion buyer like fussy bits.
