Charcoal grey bridesmaid dresses - under £75 - help!

I am getting married this year and like the idea of having charcoal grey or a similar shade of bridesmaid dresses.

I'll be having four adult bridesmaids (maybe five) and wanted to let them all choose a different style dress in the same/similar shade.

I've looked around online and something like Dessy dresses would be ideal - but they are about twice my budget. I've seen lots of China based wholesale companies offering Dessy rip offs for decent prices which I would consider, but the ones I've looked at don't do the kind of colour I have in mind.

All bridesmaids are a size 8-12 so high street dresses would be ok too. I am thinking knee length would be best but long also ok.

Finding it really tough to find the right shade at the right price so any help would be fab. :)

If you are not in a rush, this company on ebay makes the dresses to measure in China and ships to you. They have good feedback and prices under £40 a dress although shipping more expensive and would take a while to get to you. You could pick your style and fabric #40 dark grey looks like it might be close to what you want.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. Not thought of looking at Monsoon or Phase Eight so will keep my eyes on their websites over the next couple of months to see what they bring out - thinking not much in the way of grey though as it's not particularly a summer colour :(

Zhen that's the kind of thing I was thinking might best suit my requirements - will take a proper look now.

It is several years since I did this so not 100% sure on websites any more, but when I got married the first time my bridesmaids had Jim Hjelm dresses (similar styles/prices to Dessy) that I bought over the internet from a US website at about 1/3 of the UK cost. I had to phone to place the order, as several retailers do not permit 'internet' sales, but it all worked fine. They did their own measuring, picked different styles in the same colour like you, and then got them adjusted by a local dressmaker on arrival.

If you try some wedding forums (hitched.co.uk etc) I'm sure someone can recommend websites.

Ooh thanks pootle, this sounds good Grin

I was a bridesmaid for someone that did just that pootlebug, from this website, www.jlmcouture.com/ The dresses were great and none of us needed them altering. I'll see if I can link a photo.
