I'm starting a course of Intracel in a few weeks and wondered if anyone else had it done and if they were pleased with the results? TIA

Have never heard of this. Am having horrendously expensive Fraxel treatments for acne scarring. Have had 2 sessions so far, and while my skin feels better, I'm so far not convinced it'll make much difference. My dermatologist reassures me otherwise......while she races to the bank with my money! Ah, she's v good really. And wealthy!! How is intracel different from Fraxel? Is it costing much? am. V interested. As is probably any poor old acne-scarred individual watching. Good luck with it and will you let us know how it goes?

Slainte · 06/01/2012 11:17

Hi Ijustneedmycoffee here is the link to the Intracel treatment.

It is expensive too, approx £500 per treatment and needs 4-5 treatments. It's only for scarring not for "live" acne, think I'll need medication for that but as I'm TTC I won't be going down that route for a while.

I saw the Fraxel ages ago but didn't proceed as having DD and life etc delayed my looking for treatment. I'm going on 10 Feb so will def update.

Thanks slainte.
Isn't it all a total pain in the bum. Was in a similar position to yourself, put off roaccutane for years, between pregnancies (6, 2 babies) and breastfeeding, it wasn't possible. Finally did it last year, fantastic. What a relief. I went to the dermatologist initially looking for Fraxel, she wouldn't do it til I had the acne under control. I thought it was fairly minor at the time, she disagreed. So a few years later I went back for roaccutane. Because i was -ahem- older, or as the derm said, "more mature", i didn't need a high dose, and apart from dry skin had no trouble taking it. As I said before what a RELIEF! And now I'm on the Fraxel road. Your intracel thing looks like it should be v good. Possibly better than fraxel. Am back for 3rd Fraxel end of Jan, I must ask derm aout intracel
then. Is intracel fairly new? I find my derm excellent, her diagnoses and advice have been spot on. Long story, I also had this thing called Demodex, which is a mite, lives in pores, comes out at night, totally bleugh sounding, most of us have some, (yes folks, i'm delighted to spread the delightful news, most of us have mites on/in our skin). I had a lot (apparently), bleugh bleugh, but treatment was fairly simple and really made a difference to my skin. No other derm had picked it up.
Anyway after that long-winded Diatribe, I'm on the Fraxel road and hoping. About £400 a go, I suspect I'll need 5 or 6 if I can afford. My skin is fairly glowing. Expensive glow tho!!! Mind you I've spent a pretty fortune over the years on cosmetic nonsense, this is prob cheap by comparison!
Good luck with Intracel. Will be agog to hear how you get on. And good luck with the TTC!

Hi Slainte, How are you getting on with your intracel, it would be nice to compare notes. I had my first one yesterday and all went okay. I suffer with bad skin and wrinkles around my mouth due to sun damage, I am hoping to see a big improvement.
How is your skin looking now and how many intracels have you had?

Slainte · 16/03/2012 17:57

Hi all. Well, after a few delays I had my first Intracel treatment today. I don't know about you, Sammy but I found it very sore. I had topical anaesthetic applied an hour before treatment then during it I had six injections of dental block, but it still stung quite a bit.
I'm really hoping that its worth it. I'm very red at the moment but feeling fine now.
Ijustneedmycoffee how is your Fraxel working out.....I'm praying that I will be glowing soon too!

Can I ask where you are having your treatment? I've looked into derma rolling/needling but the thermal in Intracel is supposed to speed up results isn't it?

Slainte · 17/03/2012 13:29

Hi Grape I've pm'd you so that I don't out myself.

My face looks and feels very sunburnt today but I feel fine. Skin feels tighter than usual.

I've met someone else who's had Intracel done maybe 3/4 times and she said it's a world of difference, though I don't know what she looked like beforehand.

Slightly different thing but do any of you know anything about Obagi products? They had them in my clinic (v.v. Expensive) and I've heard two people say they're great but I don't know how objective they were. TIA

Thought I'd give a quick update...... The redness in my face went down after about 3 days though the texture is still very dry and sandpaper-esque! Though with make-up you wouldn't notice a thing.

Hopefully I'll see improvements in my skin in the next few weeks, I'll let you know Smile.

Hi- just to say that I have had 2 Intracel treatments at a reputable company. I had this treatment to help with wrinkles on my cheeks and for skin tightening of my jawline/neck sagging. It certainly has helped with this. Sadly it has left me with scarring-dimpling in the skin of my cheeks [ I suspect due to fat atrophy] which I gather others have experienced as a result of Thermage treatment. I would advice people to tread carefully in trying this treatment as it can leave you scarred like me.It has not had FDA clearance as yet.
Hope this helps.

Hi Sainte,

How did you intracel treatmeants go? are you happy with the result? I am looking to have it done to treat acne scars and lose skin. I am 24 and interested in what you think of Intracel. Also would you be able to recommend me a clinic?

Regards,
Notroubles

Hi I know this thread was a while ago now so I may start another one if I don't hear back. But I had one of three intracel booked treatments for wrinkles - my perception is that my skin changed for the worse in texture and there are more fine lines. I'm trying to decide what to do next in terms of treatment as my confidence has dipped hugely. Would love to hear from anyone about their experiences, but mine certainly wasn't what I expected.

I will wait a few days and then re-post as new thread. I don't seem to be able to find any stories good or bad on the web, apart from this thread.

Hi gesiene and Suzie02. I am hoping you still are on this blog. I was inquiring if either of you reported your negative results to the Intracel company? I also have developed scarring, scars that have been made worse, significant dimpling, scarring and texture changes on my chin. It has been six weeks after my first and only treatment. I noticed the issue with my chin immediately the night of the procedure. There was one area that was indented and more areas that appeared over the next few days. I was told to wait 12 weeks and I would see significant improvement. I cannot wear makeup as it only makes the scars and rough texture more obvious. I am losing hope that this situation will improve and am extremely devastated. I called the Intracel corporation(Perigee), and they communicated that there are zero cases like mine and have not heard of any negative results from Intracel. I found two experiences similar to mine on this website and I found another one on Realself. I am reaching out to see if there are additional cases like mine after receiving Intracel treatments. I would like to know if those cases resolved over time and any advice on how to help heal the scarring, texture changes, etc. Additionally, with all the positive feedback from Intracel, I am searching for reasons on how this could occur. Thanks in advance.
