How to use makeup brushes

I have bought a foundation brush and a concealer brush after seeing them recommended in another thread (& reduced in Space NK) I don't know how to use them though. I'm not big on you tube tutorials though maybe that's the way to go?

TIA

Lisa Eldridge is very good. There's one on her favourite brushes and others on applying concealers and foundation. I think that brushes make a huge difference to the finish of the makeup.

The trick with foundation and concealer brushes is to use a very small amount of product at a time, just on the tip of the brush. Otherwise you with end up with big wet streaks of foundation that you can't blend. Go in short strokes, blending as you go.

Best thing is to take them back into Space NK when it's quiet in there and ask them to show you how to use them properly. They are usually very helpful with these things.

OK! Love make up and use the Brushes you bought!

Wet the brush and then dry on towel.
Put small amount of foundation on back of your hand. Add a little moisturizer if you want. Mix gently.

Dip brush in foundation and start to paint face in short strokes from nose outward. Pay attention to cracks and creases Smile
Don't forget the eye sockets and chin line.
Extend brush strokes beneath chin.

Examine self in mirror. Is everything well blended? Nothing caked in eyebrows?

Take concealer. Dip brush in tiny amount. Address any problems (veins, shadows) in small dabbing movements.

Is it blended? No weird concealer dots left in face?

You should now have pretty skin! Grin
