Messenger bag. Help please.

Hello. Could anybody please help me search for a nice messenger/ across body bag please?
Preferably leather, budget £40-£45.
Have seen these barrel bags by Zatchels www.zatchels.com/bags/winter-barrel-bag-collection.html which I thought I liked but now I am not sure. I think I was more attracted to the colour choice than the actual style. Perhaps a bit mumsy?
Have also considered something from Scaramanga as I have heard positive reviews but something is stopping me from actually ordering. Are Scaramanga bags really as lovely as everybody says?
Does anybody have any other suggestions or opinions?
Would prefer something not from the typical high street shops.

I absolutely LOVE Scaramanga bags!! Have a bought a couple of the years and they are fab quality. Go for it!!

Doglover I keep on coming back to Scaramanga, I honestly cannot put my finger on why I don't just order. I need something to save my Mulberry Antony messenger from being destroyed by tantruming toddler footprints so I suppose something which already has a 'worn' look to it might be useful.

I love the fact that the bags are well-made and slightly quirky. They are roomy and I don't agonise if things get spilt. They look even better with age and use, in my opinion. For an everyday bag, they can't be beaten!

Scaramanga sell "seconds" bags on eBay too. I got one for £30 (new but with broken small inside zip. I love it!

how heavy are the Scaramanga bags? I don't want a hard heavy satchel but need something a bit sturdier than my nylon Kipling.

Also tempted by a scaramanga - they seem better than the Cambridge satchel co. bag I was considering.

They're not made from hard, heavy leather. They're robust but not heavy with a thick, durable, comfortable strap. HTH.

Can I recommend veenu leather bags

I've had one for about 18 months and it looks as fab now as it did when I got it - slightly distressed but not tatty.

And very reasonably priced too.
