just spilt red wine over my uggs

Worse actually..I was carrying in from the car a bag with my birthday presents (today) from my lovely work colleagues and the bag spit..wine bottle fell out and broke soaking my NEW ugg boots:( (real ones) and breaking a beautiful wine glass that was also a present.

Somehow I don't think sponging them will do the trick.. shall I machine wash and if so what setting ? I am very upset:(

Soda water? Is that the thing for red wine?

I soak in cool salted water for at least a few hours before then washing if I get red wine on anything. It works a treat. Not sure how the Ugg material will cope with soaking, but I suppose it couldn't make it worse!?

Don't use hot water though, it will set the stain and then won't ever come out!?

Failing all that, could you dye them red??!

If you purchased by credit card give the card company a call and see if you can claim on the purchase protection insurance.
