It's probably old news for you lot, but Garnier BB balm...

It's pretty good isn't it?

I vaguely remember some talk of it on here a while back (didn't read in any detail, it was during my 'too busy in RL phase') but anyhow, I must have retained some good impression, as I bought some, and I'm glad I did.

I use it in place of foundation. There is/was a strangely sparse amount of blurb / instructions on the box / tube, so I'm unsure what it's supposed to do. Or even what BB means. Confused

I have heard it mentioned on here and seen it in Boots but have no idea what it's for either :). (BTW Mrs SB, tis I, Tulpe in a new guise.....was bored of my previous name ;) )

MrsSeanBean · 03/01/2012 21:14

I got some free samples as recomended on here, for a few days I thought I had found some kind of holy grail and loved it, then came out in loads of spots and dry patches which took me some time to clear up. So it's not for me.

Having tried the Garnier BB and worn it for a while I heard a few comments about it being too orange for many......cue paranoia, and then search for replacement so - just throwing this in

anyone tried the new No 7 BB?

It seems to be a different tone to the Garnier one.

MrsSeanBean · 03/01/2012 21:48

No haven;t seen a no7 one. I don't find Garnier orange, but I am deathly pale, so overall effect would only be apricot anyway Xmas Grin

I like it too Smile, particularly for summer.

sleepysox · 04/01/2012 12:43

The Garnier one broke me out in spots. But I'm using the Boots 17 one and it's fab. No break outs and lasts for most of the day. The No 7 one was released a few days after I bought the Boots 17, so I'll have to wait to try it
:(

snowmummy · 04/01/2012 13:37

I'm using the Garnier one and have been doing so for a few weeks. I love it - its so light. I use it in replace of foundation but I know what OP means - not sure what BB means or what its supposed to do either.

Gillybobs · 04/01/2012 13:42

I bought it with high hopes but found it too orange and greasy and offered almost no coverage at all. In fact am convinced it made my skin look worse : (

MerryMarigold · 04/01/2012 13:48

Just looked it up. BB means 'Blemish Balm' so not surprised they abbreviated it. I love the sound of this. I am mixed (half Asian) so Olive-y skin. How do the tones differ? Can you go in to Boots and try them all on? I am a complete novice in make up, but I do want to sort myself out this year (kids started Nursery every morning today!).

I thought you were all on about the waitrose baby bottom stuff. I heard that was good.

No 17 is much lighter than the garnier one if that helps at all viviandarkbloom.
