sunblock under foundation all year round?

Does anyone else do this routinely? I have been watchin Lisa Eldridges videos/blogs on makeup and skin care and she seems to be putting it on first. Does anyone else do this? or I am just terrible and do it only in the summer? I know it protects against wrinkles because of sun damage etc. Basically which one is good for sensitive skin/eyes?? As you can tell I am a bit of a novice in the beauty department!! Advice please!

I normally don't bother because the foundation or tinted moisturiser I usually use has SPF 15 which I think should be okay for most of the year, so check the products you're already using. For stronger sun protection Clinique City Block is supposed to be good and goes up to SPF 40 I think. I am planning to try that on holiday in a few weeks.

Yes I've used city block spf 25/40 for over 15 years- every day. I have no/few wrinkles and am in my 50s- all down I think to keeping the sun off my face.
I apply moisturiser, sun block then foundation.

yes! Never leave home without it.

I've been doing it daily since 22, I am now 34 and have very good skin. No wrinkles, I put it around my eyes too. I use clinique city block 40 because it has more antioxidants in it.

Ispywith, I use Dermalogica Solar Defence Booster SPF30. I apply it underneath moisturiser or mixed in with moisturiser as it's not v moisturising on its own, although I do have v dry skin. I have sensitive eyes and this has never caused me any problems. Avoid Neutrogena SPF25 - made me feel like my eyes were burning out of my head!

brighthair · 03/01/2012 13:03

I use a moisturiser with SPF every day, and sunblock in summer
Am v pale and burn without it

Ladies who do use it under foundation, what do you do about primer?

madmomma · 03/01/2012 22:41

superdrug 5* factor 50 facial protection. Comes in a red tube and is dirt cheap. Don't use primer - just blot with a tissue after applying the sunblock and set make up with a little powder. I think the sunblock actually helps prime for make up.

I use Aloe Up Face protector every day. I'm outside a lot and find it helps to keep my skin soft and also reduces redness from cold winds in the winter

ameliagrey · 04/01/2012 10:53

I don't use primer because Clinique City Block is also advertised as a primer- it works just as well IMO which is why I use it daily.

eandz · 06/01/2012 23:15

my sunscreen (diorsnow spf 50) acts as a primer.
