Something that I will feel attractive in, but would not be ashamed to wear around the kids/inlaws.

This might be the moon on a stick, but I want it to do all of this...

  1. Sleeveless but NOT spaghetti straps
  2. Just above knee or longer
  3. Plain or subtle print (no Rupert tartans)
  4. If it must have lace on it, let it only be a bit - no lace cups please
  5. Not shiny or silky (unless actually silk)
  6. No fucking pictures/cartoons/slogans, I am not 12

Any ideas?

WTF is that??

TBH my favourite 'nighties' are all supposed to be sundresses. Jst a though.

HettyKett · 02/01/2012 18:54

Typing fail. Sorry.

PishWife · 02/01/2012 19:48

Thank you, HettyKett. I really like the grey marl one.

What kind of sundresses do you use? Are they cotton jersey?

also, lol-ing as I imagine the look on my in-laws faces should they drop in too early of a Saturday morning and get a glimpse of me in that jumpsuit..!

I've got a few. Mostly cotten jersey, yeah, but I've got a bamboo one which is utter heaven. As a general rule they're pretty much along the lines of the nighties I linked too, or variations on the theme. Just makes it easier to get the right shape.

HettyKett · 02/01/2012 20:14

But, more to the point, do you have a fab dressing gown?

paddingtonhardstare · 02/01/2012 20:17

The white company is your friend here :-)

RedBlanket · 02/01/2012 20:27

WTF with the jumpsuit!!

I love a good nightie, I can't stand pyjamas. I'm looking for some new ones, mainly because my favourite one I bought for my hospital bag for breastfeeding. My DS is now 8.

NotMostPeople · 02/01/2012 20:31

I second the White Company, I've also got some fab things from TKMaxx that would have been £££££ if bought from elsewhere.

Nevercan · 02/01/2012 20:35

I got some plain ones with button front from peacocks

missnevermind · 02/01/2012 20:39

I second the sun dresses.

Mine look like the DKNY one but are from Primarks beach wear section.

RedBlanket · 02/01/2012 21:12

Sun dresses and beach wear - genius idea!

PishWife · 02/01/2012 21:32

Ah yes had forgotten about the White Company - I bought a white linen blend nightdress from them years ago and was a little surprised to find that it was basically see-through, so haven't tried again...

As for my dressing gown... hmm, could do better, actually.
