Scaly forearm product question

I've been getting scaly forearms (skin below elbow that you lean on) recently, probably due to epic house cleaning battle, and it's not improving as quickly as I'd like.

I do moisturise my hands regularly after an attack of scaly hands and have been thinking about using the residue up on my forearms and have done so a few times.

My question is... what does handcream have in it that makes it handcream and not body cream? I'm fairly sure (logically!) that using it won't cause issues, but can someone confirm this?

I used hand cream on my forearms.

Fingernails grew out of my elbows.

Hand cream is mote expensive body cream?

Use E45.

Bio Oil worked really well on my scaly shins. I also like Bodyshop Hemp - but I hate the smell.

Grin @ Nagoo

Bio-Oil doesn't work too well on me - just doesn't seem to do anything. Used it on my bump and still got the worst stretch marks - een my midwife commented on them!

I'm using the Body Shop Almond Oil stuff - I actually think it works better than the Hemp line and it definitely smells better!

Will apply up me arms on top of the usual day & night moisturisers and pray for no fingernails! Grin
