Has anyone tried any of these and had good results? I am interested in trying some but clueless as to which products are good. Help please!

Crest Whitestrips are the best, order from ebay as they are unavailable in shops here due to higher bleach content then UK law allows (or something like that)

DreamsInBinary · 30/12/2011 23:07

I second ednurse. They are AMAZING but make your gums bleed

ahhhhhpushit · 30/12/2011 23:10

crest whitestrips premium

They are amazing. i get stopped in the street because of my teeth!

humblehippo · 31/12/2011 00:27

Sounds good but not sure if ordering it online is bit risky if it is banned, might get a bad reaction if too much dodgy sstuff in it? (wimp)

Are the ones you can buy in Boots etc no good?

Only the crest whitestrips are any good. They were actually reviewed by a UK national newspaper recently (telegraph I think) and also came out the most safe too.

You can only get them online at the moment though (ebay the best).

ahhhhhpushit · 31/12/2011 12:40

*or one of the most safe, I should say.

humblehippo · 31/12/2011 14:23

Oh hm, interesting. I will have a google about the safety aspect and maybe go for it then!

I was going to get these but ready some bad reviews and thought my dentist would hate me if I ruined my gums so I just had the trays made and bleach mine every few months cost alot but worth it imo.

MistyMountainHop · 01/01/2012 11:03

crest whitestrips, the super-duper ones, i can't think what they are called but they are their top of the range ones

went to L.A last summer and bought a pack of 4 strips, you can use them once every 3 months, and i only have one left! :(

they are amazing, can really tell the difference

ameliagrey · 01/01/2012 11:08

Sorry to be a party pooper but you ought not to risk using anything bleachy near your gums without dental supervision.

I've had my teeth whitened at the dentists and had a pre- whitening check up and after care.

I thought about the strips but decided they are banned here for a reason.

JuliaScurr · 01/01/2012 11:15

Do they work on crowns?

pommedenoel · 01/01/2012 11:18

I used crest white strips for a few weeks before my wedding. Wouldn't normally be what I would do but was desperate not to hate expensive photos.

Definitely definitely made a difference.

However it made my gums super super sensitive and the effect disappeared pretty quickly once I stopped. I think they're probably not great for your teeth in all honesty but at least I can look at my wedding photos!!

ahhhhhpushit · 01/01/2012 14:05

julia no they don't. Only real teeth.

humblehippo · 01/01/2012 16:37

I have looked them up on a few sites and those Crest ones are v popular and easily available in America with no mention of bad side effects or any health risks. I am off to America in a couple of weeks so I think I will get them there rather than trying ebay etc. I am quite wary of rogue sellers especially with products like this! Need to book the dentist soon anyway so will mention it to him just in case.

I looked on eBay for the Crest Strips but there are quite a few types!

Which are the best ones?

I hate the colour of my teeth!!

ggirl · 01/01/2012 17:11

my mum sent me some from canada
they do work well but it's temporary

MistyMountainHop · 01/01/2012 18:58

ggirl how long did they last for you?

ggirl · 01/01/2012 20:24

about a day or until my next cup of tea/wine

ahhhhhpushit · 01/01/2012 20:31

I last used them xmas 2009 and had a dentist appt just before xmas. Dentist asked me when I'd had them professionally whitened Grin

ahhhhhpushit · 01/01/2012 20:32

blob I use the 7 day premium ones.

ggirl · 01/01/2012 21:00

ah obviously my mum sent me the cheap shit ones then Grin

SnapesOnAPlane · 01/01/2012 21:05

I use the 2 hour strips - the 7 days of 30 minutes ones hurt quite a bit on the 3rd day. Minimal pain with the 2hr strips, thankfully.
(I have quite sensitive teeth, I don't think it hurts for most people.)

MistyMountainHop · 01/01/2012 21:30

really ggirl they definitely must be the shit ones then! :o

i use the 2 hour ones that you can only use 4 times a year and even when i am getting near the end of the 3 months (iyswim) my teeth are still pretty white

i do use ann electric toothbrush and whitening toothpaste as well, not sure if that makes a difference

ggirl · 01/01/2012 21:32

well i did chuck out the box they came in and only have the packets
maybe I am supposed to do it every day.
have only used them a few times
