Red lippy

Hi, my dp bought me some "scarlet red" lippy from T.Ford (well he bought me some TF perfume and got them to throw in some bitsnbobs). I've never worn red lipstick in my life, its either gloss or sometimes nude lipstick. But I wore it a couple of times over Xmas so can't take it back; has anyone any tips on how to apply red lippy that make it a bit less "standout"? Its such a beautiful case, but it will sit in the drawer for ever if I can't find a way to wear it. All suggestions gratefully received thanks!

Keep the rest of your make-up really subtle, channel Grace Kelly, not Kelly Osbourne. A good base, but not mask like as blushed can make it look tranny. No eye-liner for the same reason. Just a touch of black Mascara and a sweep of ivory shadow and then a boat load of confidence because it will look 10 times better than you think it does, it's just if you're like me (eyes rather than lips) it can seem shocking.

Good luck!
