My mohair jumper is shedding - I kid you not

Hi there,

Any tips to help me with my mohair jumper? Its moulting everywhere. Its currently in the freezer but should I hand wash it? Wear it a few times and the little white hairs will eventually all fall out?

I knitted it myself this christmas time. Its taken me about 20 hours in the last seven days. I shunned by baby ("go watch igglepiggle just one more time") and my husband ("shhhh I'm counting") and so I must wear this jumper!

I would think it would stop shedding after a few wears, but mohair is rather, ermmm, sheddy.

Have you washed it? if it's machine washable bung it in, otherwise give it a soak in some cashmere shampoo or similar and swirl it around the water a bit.
