Fabulous DH has said he will treat me to a new bag to replace DS's nappy bag which he doesn't really need anymore.

So I need a relatively roomy but not big, bag. I like the slouchy soft leather ones, maybe brown or black? Or tan?

If you've seen a lovely one recently please feel free to share!

How lovely!!! Lucky you.

I have this which is nice as you can wear it many different ways. (I take the big dangly gold thing off because I think it's naff)

this is also rather nice

BeeBread · 28/12/2011 17:25

I was given this lovely soft leather bag for Christmas - it is much reduced in the sale...

Because it is a two-in-one I plan to use one half for DS's stuff, and one for mine, then zip them together when I am out with DS but only carry my things the rest of the time.

Winetimeisfinetime · 28/12/2011 17:26

There's the Mulberry Mitzi messenger in the sale.

madammecholet · 28/12/2011 17:31

Olympia

or

berri · 28/12/2011 18:29

Great choices, thank you!

I love the Mariela - I'm in the USA at the moment so would have to see if there are any stockists here so I could have a look before buying....that's exactly the kind of one I was looking for.

Keep them coming!

Marc by Marc Jacobs I would go for - saw a lovely one for £350

pixierara · 29/12/2011 18:36

Oh my gosh, lucky you!!! I recently treated myself to a bespoke leather satchel from the Leather Satchel Company...it is beyond amazing, less than £200 and you can choose your finish - eg mine had magnetic clasps and a briefcase strap. I went for metallic leather finish and have had SO many comments. I was sad enough to blog about it, let me know if you want to see the link!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PipaLockstocking · 29/12/2011 18:43

I was disappointed in the Peony and Moore Mariella. Lovely colour but the leather looked cheap - like that what'd you'd get in a cheap leather Med shop (that you wouldn't go in to).

Perhaps I'm too fussy.

Emo76 · 29/12/2011 20:38

Hello, Pure Collection have a sale on with some lovely bags in it (as recommended on the wise and avid thread!) Worth a look!

Hepsibaaah · 29/12/2011 21:03

have you looked at Coach handbags? alleged to be USA equivalent to mulberry Hmm they are actually lovely bags, good quality leather and wellmade www.coachbagsale.org.uk/coach-handbags-sale-shoulder-shoulder-bags-2011-c-119_122.html

madammecholet · 29/12/2011 21:21

I love my Mariela pip,Confused, I have the pink one which has really gorgeous crackly shiny finish which has aged beautifully, its Italian leather so certainly not cheap imo...had it a while now and always gets nice comments when I wear it... each to their own tho!

I like the shape of coach bags in the sale hepsibaaah, just wish they were in plain leather and less bling...

madammecholet · 29/12/2011 21:22

frankie76 link please to Marc Jacobs lust bag....Grin

WillPenn · 29/12/2011 21:38

I have totally fallen in love with this bag here. I do not need it and can't afford it anyway, but I think it is one of the loveliest bags I seen in a while...

warmandwooly · 29/12/2011 21:44

What about Longchamp bags?if you like Mulberry then I think 300 quid would go towards or get you something in a Mulberry outlet. What about a Mulberry Mabel bag?on my phone so will post a link to a pic in a few moments

warmandwooly · 29/12/2011 21:57

Mulberry mabel ebay search page for pics shop.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/searchresults?cmd=SKW&pg=1&kw=mulberry+mabel

frankie76 · 29/12/2011 22:52

Sorry not learnt how to link yet but it is the Natasha petal or the hillier hobo I am deciding between
Husband had a bad accident when I was pregnant 3 years ago and he is finally getting the settlement so is giving me 500 pounds to go shopping
(if anyone can pm me how to do a link it would be so helpful)

tethersend · 29/12/2011 23:49

Here?

Emo76 · 30/12/2011 08:18

That coach bag site looks fake

madammecholet · 30/12/2011 09:29

I agree emo all those Coach bags look horrid, and yet I know they do really lovely ones.. this is the real site here

sailorsgal · 30/12/2011 10:29

Haven't had a good look at the site but the Smith Bag at Dooney and Burke looks lovely and a bargain at $400. Smile

sailorsgal · 30/12/2011 10:31

Kate Spade do very nice bags too.

berri · 30/12/2011 14:24

Sorry all, couldn't get online yesterday.

Loving some of the suggestions on here. I've seen a few Coach bags over here, but not really having heard of the brand before I wasn't really looking at them properly. They are v pricey though! And the sales ladies always seem to be a bit snotty when I go over to have a look.

I was surprised not to see Mulberry over here, I have 2 already and love them. I don't really want to buy anything without seeing it, as you really can't tell what the leather etc is like from the pics I don't think. I like the Mabel but was looking for something less structured I think.

I like the Marc Jacobs ones too, but DH doesn't like them for some reason! Picky bugger.

Tethers that one is lovely, and that's the kind of slouchy style I'm looking for. Sailorsgal - haven't heard of Dooney & Burke but they do have some nice ones by the look of the website! Kate Spade ones are a little over my budget I think, for the medium kind of size I'm looking for.

Pixierara yes I would definitely like to see your blog, haha. Please link!

Thanks v v much all - am armed with a new list now so will come back and update once I've taken the plunge :)
