been watching sali hughes on Guardian website- and thinking of trying one.

Anyone use them and anyone tried Clinique or Nars?

I am very pale and use an ivory toned foundation.

I tried a chanel one once, didnt work on my pale skin.

I like Benefit High Beam & mix a little in with my foundation. I'm also pale, HTH

coldhand, I am tempted by the Benefit Highbeam. Do you also put it under your foundation? Or do you just mix a little into your foundation?

knitknack · 27/12/2011 20:22

I use them - I'm nearly forty and I NEED something to look less corpse-like.

I have Becca skin perfecter which is incredible but pricey, and also the barbara daly one from tescos which is about £4 and fine for everyday.

I use Highbeam on top of my foundation on my cheekbones and nose. I definitely look brighter with it.

Would like to try the Becca one though.

Hi

Yes, I have been using Boots No 7 Illuminator under my foundation for a while, it definately makes me look 'fresher'. It does have v small twinkles/sparkles in it, but guess that is what makes it work.

I usually buy it when they are doing 3 for 2 on No7 stuff (as they are now) as I use their foundation and face creams.

I have also tried Benefit Pearl Meets Girl - www.boots.com/en/benefit-girl-meets-pearl-face-primer_1124438/ - which is similar but it is rather pink (the Boots above is more skin coloured) so haven't really worked out how to use it. Was completely sold when I saw a demo of it by the obv very skilled at selling Benefit sales guy.

Here is to a radiant 2012!

I don't want one to mix with foundation- was thinking of the type you use on your cheekbones to give a bit of a lift ot bloom.

Another Benefit HighBeam fan - I dot it along brow bone and cheekbones over tinted moisturiser and then blend. I use it every day and a bottle lasts me about 2 years - seriously!

watersign76 · 30/12/2011 09:34

I did try on top of foundation, but I could never get it to look right. Any of these mentioned should work on top or underneath foundation I would have thought.

Fregley · 30/12/2011 09:44

you all need a better foundation not this shint stuff

go and get some chanel vitalumiere

Fregley · 30/12/2011 09:44

( tbh if your foundation isnt working as it should then change)
