should I dye my hair?

I have very long blonde hair with natural highlights. my skin is quite fair (I struggle to find foundation that suits my skin tone, but thats a whole other thread!) I've never dyed my hair before, mainly because i'm scared it will never look the same again!

but I'm bored of the way that I look and dress (very mumsey) I'm only 24 and feel like i'm stick in a not very fasionable 40yos body and clothes.

I've been thinking about dying it brown, but then get to scared. will it go back to beautiful blonde if I dont like it? would it be a mistake? what do I do?

(clothes wize i'm sorting out slowly, being pg I'm stuck to maternity clothes, but once baby is out and ive managed to get back to a weight i'm happy with i have saved quite a bit to be able to g to debinhams and have a wardrobe consultation with a stylist, which i am quite excited about!)

Do NOT dye your hair!
Going brown would probably make you look more mumsy! If your feeling pale & washed out, this will just reinforce that.

I say in the meantime experiment with makeup. Get a consultation somewhere decent if your clueless.

You say you are making inroads with your wardrobe so, that's good. Remember that great accessories are pg woman's friend- great bag, great shoes, funky scarf, etc are essential to perking yourself up.

Small details can make a real difference. One of the easiest ways to look less mumsy & insipid is do your nails. I like to keep mine short, square & dark (reds, dark purples, dark brown, dark grey).

Instead of dying your hair why not get a bit more of a structured cut if as you say it's very long? I'm not saying get it all chopped off but, perhaps some layers & sweeping fringe might be a change for you?

Get yourself a reall good cut instead. I think you'll regret the brown dye.

Don't dye your hair!

Have a look at Lisa Eldridge she does fab makeup tutorials, what I love is that she often looks washed out and tired at the start, and is always gorgeous at the end, very inspirational!

Don't dye your hair; maintenance is a faff.

SantasENormaSnob · 21/12/2011 13:59

I wouldn't dye it tbh.

I think you will regret it.

Dillydollydaydream · 21/12/2011 14:09

Don't do it!
Keep your lovely blonde hair!

So, we all agree that you are not going to dye your hair. Grin
