I have it. No not crap - very, very good.

Wear the glove though - it gets nuclear hot.

We have one for dd's hair (mine's too short) and it's good. Does get mighty hot though. You get this Michael Jackson type glove to wear, which helps.

Both Dd's hair is quite fine though. The curl does drop a bit so we only really use it for the odd party. The curl may last longer on thicker hair I'm not sure.

my hair is long and thick and its rubbish on that. Takes forever and is very fiddly and easy to burn yourself.

I have one, it works well with my waist length 'fine but lots of it' hair (although I only do the bottom 8" or so) and with 8yo dd's just beyond shoulder length medum thickness hair.
