Argan/Moroccan oil - where to buy?

My hairdresser used the Moroccan Oil treatment in my hair on Saturday and it's left it so soft!

I'm a bit skint at the moment though so was wondering how I can get the same result for cheaper? Is argan oil exactly the same as Moroccan oil? And where do you buy yours? How much do you pay?

TIA

Step 1 - find out exactly what she used, and what brand.

For instance, Moroccanoil (all one word, brand name) is mostly a silicone-based thing with just a bit of argan oil in it.

It was the Moroccan Oil with the blue label - the 'oil treatment' one, not styling cream.

Try ebay - but try be ware as some of it isn;t the true stuff. You are better to purchase through your local salon imo.. I pay about 30quid for a bottle - but it lasts about 6 months so worth every penny..

Wow, 6 months, that's great value.

Tres Semme do a serum with the oil in it; much cheaper but not tried it yet.

I'm fairly sure Lee Stafford do an argan oil range in Boots. Never used it myself so I can't say what it's like, but it's there! Smile

Pure Argan oil is on Amazon, as is Moroccanoil. You can buy the trial size MO on there, to see if you get on with it.

There's also Orofluido, which smells rather nice.

Ooh I love Tresemme Euphemia, will give that a go then, thanks Smile

I've used the Lee Stafford stuff (£10 in boots) and the really expensive stuff (£30) - I can't really tell the difference other than both make my hair feel WONDERFUL!

There are two lovely Garnier Fructis conditioners that have argan oil in them but no silicone.
Moroccan oil is mostly silicone and will weigh down your hair.

JosieRosie · 20/12/2011 10:52

Thanks Lesser, do you know the names of the Garnier products?

Discovered it's only one, actually, Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine conditioner.
The Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Conditioner has olive, avocado and shea oils and is also great?I've used both.

I bought some organic Argan oil in a middle eastern food shop: it cost about £16 for 500mls. I gave my friend some when her, hairdresser bought, Morroccan oil ran out and she swears it works in exactly the same way.
Another friend uses hair oil from an Asian shop run by an Indian lady and reckons that is fantastic, although not Argan oil.
