Please help me pack for winter holiday!

I am going to St Ives for 4 nights after christmas and getting the train down there with DH and 5year old DS. We need to travel light. Please help me build a 'capsule wardrobe' (much as that phrase irritates me). I am a 'I have billions of close and nothing to wear sort of person' usually!

Clothes* not close.

Wellies and waterproofs

What will you be doing while you are there? Then you can plan outfits from there.

For example -- travelling outfit comfortable & warm (jeans & a jumper & flat boots)

Dinner out -- either a skirt or dress that goes w/ boots?

If you have to pack light the key is to minimize your footwear. Shoes take up alot of space and are heavy. Ideally all your outfits should work with one pair of shoes.
