'pop' socks / knee high stockings

OK so my mother wants some brightly coloured stocking type things that don't have to be pulled up very far for Christmas (she has arthritis and likes wearing bright coloured skirts).

I currently live in Canada and they don't seem to exist over here (or at least not in my very outdoorsy town). Anyone have any idea where I could look?

Do you mean sheer type stockings? Hi Nooka.... just out of curiousity where are you exactly? I only ask because I am Canadian but live in the UK and am curious as to your "outdoorsy town".

try John Lewis.... the Avoca over the knee ones are very nice... but not sheer.

Hi pocketandsweet, we live in Interior BC.

Yes she is looking for sheer things - essentially I think she would wear tights but just can't pull them up any more. Like these ones I think, but in bright colours:

You could try mytights.com. They have a big range to choose from. Transparenze do some opaque ones in lovely colours that come as ankle socks or knee highs.

Or if there is a branch of The Bay in your town you might be lucky and find some in there.

Thank you RedwingWinter. I did look in the Bay, but it sounds like Transparenze and mytights might be just right. She'd really like bright colours.

Trasparenze were just the job. Very nice. Thanks :)

That's great. I hope she likes them :)
