Hi everyone, tommorrow night I am going to the Wedding Reception of one of DH's employees. Ive never met her but she sounds super glam as she has had teeth whitening & botox for her wedding (gulp) I have had two kids and have a rather tired wardrobe since becoming a Mum. The only dresses I could get away with are black, I know it's a Winter Wedding but is this a complete no no?
Option A - Linen above the knee length with sort of Lace/crochet bit at the top.
Option B - Full length plain quite simple fitted black dress.
Option c _ Full length Black one covered in sequins (I know this is the fashion at the moment, but full lenth?) Oh help.

Do you have any pictures?

I think full length dresses are a no-no at weddings (unless you're the bride)

You will freeze in linen plus it creases. I would go for option b and glam it up with some fabulous shoes and jewellery.

uh oh I did wonder about that, Will try to take some photos after I have collected the children. I have a nice sparkly wrap around cardi, that might be better over a shorter dress then (am thinking warmth).

Option D - buy a new one? Order one from Next and (theorectically) get it delivered tomorrow!

I'm good at spending other people's money!

Or you could (whispers) wear trousers?

Do you have a smart suit, that you could prettify?

mummyplonk · 16/12/2011 15:49

I like your thinking Matleave, we will be off about lunchtime, am looking at the forecast and as it is in Wales I think trousers could be a great idea Pootles! I have some nice black trousers, maybe I should invest in a new funky top. (I could wear my boots underneath as well then which would be a blessing when tolling home to the B & B)

I remember going to the races a few years back in October, was freezing, daft young thing that I was I wore a flimsy dress, I honestly thought I was going to die. I remember a lot of smarter, more sophisticated ladies had lovely suits on, with wool cape type things, much better!
