Please help! Looking for affordable, warm winter jacket/coat

Hi,

Please can you help me find a nice, very warm-as walk everywhere-winter jacket and waterproof too? Not necessarily a fashion statement,but stylish a little at least. Seen Geox,Land's End, Mountain wear, Northface, but not sure if they are any good? Also are there any which are not as pricey,but equally good?
