Please can you help an OCM Virgin?!

I really need to start taking care of my skin and having looked on various S&B threads i think i should give the OCM a go.

However, could do with a quick run though from someone who's tried and tested it (and that it works for!) so i know exactly what to do and how much to make up at a time, etc.

TIA

Ok I know you only want to hear from people who it's worked for and I really don't want to rain on your parade but it REALLY didn't work for me and in fact my skin is only just returning to normal after around 3 months of sheer acne hell after I started doing the OCM. My skin is combination and only slightly sensitive and yours may be completely different but just wanted to warn you. There is a lot of positive stuff online about OCM and I fully expected a miracle rather than the worst prolonged breakout of spots I'd ever had (including teenage years Shock.

Sorry, that was so negative Blush. I know it's worked for a lot of people and I'm (clearly!) still a bit peed off about it!!

OCM didn't work for me either. I got awful pustule-like pimples and ugly acne scars. When I went oil-free, my skin cleared up.

What then?

I liked Dermalogica and also thought about trying Guinot?

I like it - my experience is:

I bought a small bottle of castor oil and used my 'posh' extra virgin olive oil from the kitchen. Found a nice glass bottle, sterilised it with boiling water then did my mix of about 1/5 castor and 4/5 olive oil.

As part of evening routine would massage the oil mix into my skin everywhere - particularly attractive if I have been wearing mascara that day! Then get the sink full of hot water - ours is pretty hot out of the taps and dunk in a face flannel, squeeze out the water and place over face. Loved that bit - the heat on the face. Rinse flannel again then repeat a couple of times. Magically removes the makeup into the flannel and job done.

No need for any moisturiser that night - and off to bed. If not wearing makeup the next day I often found I also didn't need to moisturise even the next morning.

Starting off I did it each evening but have got a bit slack lately. It took about 10 days for skin to feel and look good. Since then its very good condition - best thing ever for my blackheads. Still get PMT spots from time to time but a lot less than before. Will still have the odd spectacular spot - but a lot less than I used to. Really feel like my skin glows...

The cheapness of this regime is one of the reasons I love it!!! No cleansing products other than the initial bottle of castor oil for about £1.50 and I use a lot less moisturiser.
