Thats it really, Dd wants one (not fat face-because friend has one -but similar).

I like things that are practical, and am anchient so have no idea which brands are "in",can anyone suggest good names?(apparantly labels matter in these things -who knew).

Prepare to part with large amount of £££

Mrsrobertduvall · 15/12/2011 14:08

Dd has the Jack Wills one, which is about £90

Tigresswoods · 15/12/2011 14:21

Jack wills
Hollister
A&F

PattySimcox · 15/12/2011 14:22

Even more expensive

Thank you all, very much for all the suggestions and particularly the links.

I'm guessing that the jack wills label is the most prestigeous, around here anyway.
Does that equate with most comfortable/warmest?

We're the kind of family that trots along to gooutdoors when we need warm clothes, but pbviously this means nothing in terms of street cred.

Where teen clothes are concerned, the cost has no bearing whatsoever on warmth, comfort, practicality or how well it is made I'm afraid, it is purely about the label.

Style over substance

Jack Wills, if you can go in the shop without vomiting. Their stuff IS good quality - proper 100% wool jumpers and coats etc. So if you can stomach all the pretentiousness it's worth it! I particularly like their labels saying 'Fabulously British', with 'Made in China' right underneath...

Mrsrobertduvall · 15/12/2011 14:58

Jack Wills is good quality...dd's sleeveless vests are in to their third year with no sign of wear.
Her gilet is very warm....she hasn't worn a coat yet this winter.

Prefer the pretentiousness of JW to the pseudo Californian gloom of Hollister

VivaLeBeaver · 15/12/2011 15:00

I was going to say Primark has some nice ones in

LikeAnAdventCandleButNotQuite · 15/12/2011 15:06

For warmth you can;t beat North Face BUT for teenage reputation, Jack Wills is the way to go. Hoodie underneath, hat and gloves and she'll be toasty.

If she's trecking the Poles, got for the NOrth Face, but day to day life Jack Wills really is probably the only way to go with teenage girls.

peanutsmuggler · 15/12/2011 15:07

If you have a Republic near you they do Soulcal ones in loads of different colours, they are £50-£60 I think.

canistartagainplease · 16/12/2011 08:19

Thanks again everyone, have just ordered a jack wills over the internet, should be here in a few days.

Its a blow out for us, so like viva reminded me, Primark will be the place of choice for a few months coming.

Happy christmas Xmas Smile

My dd got a Jack Wills bodywarmer for Christmas 2 years ago. It is very warm and she wears it all the time. It was expensive but she has had good wear out of it.
