model looks good with lovely wild thick hair after crimping her roots. I have fine mid length hair.

Are you anywhere near a Debenhams? They sometimes have demo girls with hair gadgets - you could ask for a demo as see what ploy think before parting with any money.

Do you mean the babyliss root booster thing? I have one and i usually just do the crown part of my hair and it does 'lift' it up a bit. Its not something i can be faffing on with everyday. I haven't yet tried crimping a full head of roots, but i can imagine it would give your hair the big effect!

If I have fine hair would the crimpey part be visible?

No, as long as you don't crimp the roots of the top layer of your hair.
