Would it be ok for a wedding just after xmas, and what would you wear with it?

Going to the wedding a couple of days after xmas, church, (freezing probably!) and then posh hotel, need to be able to run round after DD all day (nearly 2) and be warm but look nice, I am a size 12/14 ish, big boobs but I am short. Have a good waist. Am 34, also worried it might be a bit old...I like purple, pattern, like the shape, wrap dresses normally suit me. have a horrible tubby belly, from said toddler...hoping the drapeyness would hide it.

have these shoes already

www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/ladies-shoes/irregular-choice-female-mini-magic-floral-suede-upper-in-purple.asp

which I thought might go, would love much higher heels, but being practical, I will want to cut my own feet off by the end of the night if I wear higher ones, I do have some hot pink ones and some black platform heels that I could wear though, also a lovely warm purple coat, for outside etc.

What would I wear on my legs - bare (eek) or opaques, shrug or something for the shoulders? what colour? have a plain black one in a nice fabric, long sleeved, plus a couple of sparkly ones, one in gold, one in black - although not sure if it's too much black.

TIA

Ooh I think you will be cold! Have you seen the dress in the flesh, so to speak? Is it very thin?

missmakesstuff · 12/12/2011 23:51

No, haven't at all, have searched the shops but found nothing, cannot face looking any more in the xmas crowds..

the thing that worries me is it is called 'rebecca mesh' whatever that means...

could wear thermals underneath!

I think it will be fine as long as you take a warmish wrap or shrug to wear in Church. I like your dress, and I think it will be very flattering.

Not convinced about the shoes - they look like a blue-purple whereas the dress looks more of a pink/red/purple, - but its hard to tell from pictures, they might be fine. Personally I would go for black shoes, and accessories. And definitely wear tights - otherwise you will be cold.

KurriKurri · 12/12/2011 23:52

I couldn't quite see why it was called 'mesh' either Confused

missmakesstuff · 12/12/2011 23:54

Thanks, might consider my black platforms and opaque black tights then. will see...

Might just get it, just in case, can't dither about it anymore, could take it back I guess if it is no good.

Really hope it isn't made out of mesh!

Wouldn't be a good look, need all the coverage I can get I think!

Sorry I should have said, I do like the dress. I find Phase 8 comes up quite large, so maybe size down when you order?

Agree about opaques and black shoes.

missmakesstuff · 13/12/2011 18:43

ooh, have ordered 14 now...we shall see, will be both annoyed and please if it fits (annoyed it's a large size 14...)

Hopefully have left myself enough time to change it if needs be..

Thanks all!
