Am I asking too much? Is it too late for me? Will I have to wear a couple of cushions off the couch?

I have left it waaaaay too late but I desperately need a winter coat before the next bout of snow arrives!

I had quite a nice cream Oakley puffa jacket thing but cream with 3 kids (2 of them 17 months) is just not a good idea - I washed it and it died!

I'd like something REALLY warm (my puffa was snug but made me look just slightly like the honey monster), wind, rain and snow proof, ideally 3/4 length or at least longer than my waist (i.e. when I bend into the car to wrestle with a double buggy early on a snowy morning I'd like not to get snow in my bra).

I desperately don't want to look like all the mums on the school run in ski wear but desperately need the practicality and probably (YIKES) a hood.

I want to look stylish, attractive, maybe even sexy(), when the rain, wind, snow and bad mood says otherwise!

In truth, I want to wear a t-shirt and jeans with all the protection of a North Face sleepbag with Ranulph Fiennes inside. Any hope for me?

FrumpyGrumpy · 09/01/2006 15:20

Ah Gap, in my style ignorance I presumed they didn't do warm coats. Thanks girls, I'm Gapping as soon as I can get there.

I would definitely try Gap

If I find and buy will I have to change my name?

Hello fg, hope ur dd is on the mend?
How much u lookign to spend? Ted Baker do the most gorgeous parka type things that are so warm. I got one in a sale half price for £100. There are prob still some about. Mine is really thick, I bought it for school runs, but hardly wear it now, cos I drive to school. Great for winter walks tho.
