Dyed medium brown hair red yesterday do this regularly but used different br and this time as usual colour was not in stock. Has come out very orange and i wonder can i put a medium brown dye over the top to soften it a bit?
Hep christmas night out next week and want to love my hair. Everyone commented on it last night saying it was lovely but i don't like it.!!!!

u can get a colour remover and take it all off back to your natural colour and then redye. my friend used one from savers it was about £8 and it worked really well although it takes a couple of hours to do. i am thinking of giving it a go as i have just dyed my hair and its too dark! not what the box said at all

Get "colourB4". Follow the instructions very carefully. In particular rinsing time and not to use a 2 part colour for one week. It works really well. You will be a little orange after due to long term use of perm colours, but use an 8 wash colour to tone it down, then a perm colour after one week. You need to use a light ash toned colour to cancel out the orange.

Alternatively you can do a bleach bath. Use jerome Russell in the lowest strength. Make up as per instructions then mix with equal amount of baby shampoo. Leave on for about 5-10 minutes. You will be lighter and again a little orange. But you can dye it straight away (use a semi not a perm just in case!). Is also way quicker, but more expensive and riskier and will damage your hair, nothing a regular intensive mask won't fix.

I've done both and would suggest the colourB4 if you have the time.
