Curling wand - do I need to straighten first?

I love my curling wand but find it a pain in the arse that I have to straighten my hair before I use it! Will it still look ok if I use the curling wand on my naturally frizy wavy hair without straightening?

Try just blowdrying roughly before Using the wand- hair should be dry but not nec straight. Or let it dry naturally, brush and then do it - section by section. In fact If you are using straighteners your hair will drop much faster. Straighteners take all the life out of curly hair.

You can do it on your naturally curly hair but it's harder to get a done look. I do it like that because I don't like to look too done - just not mad!
