So. Every year my group of best girlfriends do a 'not so secret' santa thing - names are pulled out of a hat and we buy for that person. We get together and do the swap - no OH, no DC - just us and wine!

We have done it for about 15 years and as you can imagine, same old stuff is bought over and over and though lovely treats each year, I just want something different this year.

Budget - £30 ish. The friend I'm buying for this year is a beauty therapist and just loves anynew stuff - be it a makeup brush, liner, mascara - whatever, does anyone have any suggestions of something she may not have?

Faves are MAC and Benefit. Not exclusive, though.

Thanks in advance!

The new Benefit Mascara is very good but is £18.50 - called 'They're Real' and it is the best I have used so far.

Noooooo not Beneshit! Can't be more helpful than that though sorry Blush

QuinnFabray · 10/12/2011 17:17

Yeah, but even the Benefit haters love their new mascara. It is the latest must have. As are the new Chanel cream/mousse eye shadows.

How about Ilamasqua, Urban Decay or Tom Ford Beauty? Debenhams have 15% off all beauty this weekend and I know they stock the first two.

valiumredhead · 10/12/2011 17:19

I will never waste my money on Benefit again - and Badgal mascara was a load of rubbish!

Chanel shadows sound good!

QuinnFabray · 10/12/2011 17:23

Yes, was going to say Illamasqua. And the Tom Ford stuff is very of the moment, though also very pricey.

Laura mercier eye caviar sticks are lovely. A very versatile product.

Chanel eye shadow quadra - if you want a neutral, go for Prelude or Smoky Eye.
Love them. Their eye pencils are also gorgeous and within your budget.

New Chanel cream eyeshadows are amazing. They blend, they're sheer, they build up, they're absolutely beautiful colours, I might have accidentally bought all of them in one expensive go Blush
