Getting my knickers in a twist about tights.

I always think tights should match shoes, generally.

I don't know if these shoes with these tights or similar will be overkill, should I be getting patterned tights or just wear black ones, the shoes are very dark, but I am very short.... help me?

I have already posted about this, here TracyK reckons plummy tights, but will I look like some kind of plum pudding?

I meant the burgundy Mary Portas tights, not the nearly black ones in the link.

OP, be very honest with yourself....do you have good legs? I ask because my legs look pretty fabulous in black opaques but considerably less so in coloured opaques.

I am with you on the school of thought which says tights should match shoes, however. I notice that the Mary Portas tights are only 40 denier.....might you be better with a higher denier to give a more dense/definite colour to the tights rather than looking a bit apologetic or bruised-like? Some 40 denier can be quite see-through IME so usually I go for nothing less than 60.

Ignore. Have now read your post properly and clicked on link to see your fab Kew dress. I would be tempted to go with plum tights BUT possibly a shade darker than your dress and definitely higher denier than 40.

Cheers for the responses, I had a very quick look in M&S today for tights, but they had nothing suitable in store, I agree about getting higher denier tights.

80 denier Warehouse.

I like the colour of these charnos 100d but the review of them is pretty damning.

These Topshop 120d look good but I wish they were a little darker.

Jasper Conran great colour but possibly not high enough denier?
