I've never really looked at Fossil bags but have my eye on a slate grey version of this. It's quite expensive so just wondered if they're decent quality bags or if your paying for label?here

I've got one - it's fab quality.

JaneBirkin · 09/12/2011 16:33

I have a fossil bag and love it. It's very nice quality. However I would probably wait till one you like came into TKMaxx as they are very dear. Or try ebay.

They make some very lovely designs too. The label is very small so no one would know anyway - it took me weeks to spot the make on my friend's, which gave me the power to look it up online and get one myself. (shhh!)

They are lovely quality, beautiful leather.

I don't know where you live, but go to the Fossil shop at Cheshire Oaks as they are heavily discounted.

TarquinGyrfalcon · 09/12/2011 19:06

They are lovely (Fossil Bag addict here).

There is a great seller on Ebay called tempowatchco who sells genuine Fossil bags - I have bought from them and been very happy. I also second the TKMaxx suggestion

MrsMeow · 09/12/2011 19:29

Agree with the Cheshire Oaks suggestion. I bought a bag for uni from there that was £50ish full price (it was material as opposed to leather, but still lovely) the ticket said £35 but when I got it to the till it was only £17.50! Lots of bargains to be had there, I've got my eye on a few leather ones!

Oh I wish I lived nearer! I used to live in Hale! Xmas Envy

still maybe it's just as well. I'd have no money and a load of bags.

moragbellingham · 09/12/2011 21:43

Quality is very good and I've never really liked/noticed the name as I thought it was fairly anonymous.

Did not know about the Cheshire Oaks shop though...thank you.
Although, have seen some in TK Maxx they are never the ones I want and direct website sales tend to be on a par with the price of bags from outlet shops these days.

It just depends if you catch the sales at the right time.

LittleFriendSusan · 09/12/2011 23:06

There's a Fossil outlet in York too (at McArthur Glen) - they often have bags with 50% off or more. My friend bought a lovely tan leather one last year, think it was about £35 or so. There were loads I could have been tempted by, and quality v. good.

Xmas Smile Love Fossil bags,
At last I'm getting one for Xmas, still can't decide which colour, anyone know what the 'Baked Apple' like? only seen in photo's.

Happy Christmas :)

I have one that I love.

It was about £100 from the cheshire oaks shop.

MrsHankey · 14/12/2011 17:24

For fossil style but without the price tag, Visconti from Amazon are good.

I ordered a small selection of totes online egged on by decent savings in the summer sale - they have an impressive range of styles and colours and do sensible sizes so the totes and shopper styles manage to neither be too big or too small. I was disappointed though that three of the four bags ordered came with a prominent leather logo/badge on a main side that wasn't shown in the images online. It ruined the designs for me. While I admit I am anti-logo, this particular rendering of their name - they have various approaches it seems from unobtrusive lettering on the metal fasteners upwards - just looks plain naff. Something to bear in mind if you aren't going in to a shop, as it's going to be expensive to return them and I wouldn't have ordered them had I known. Oh and customer services are a bit limp, which is disappointing at this end of the market. Bags look good quality though, on the positive side!

To be honest I know nothing about the bags. But as a brand I'm pretty happy with them - DH and I each bought Fossil watches seven years ago on honeymoon and they are both as perfect as they were the day they were bought (and haven't needed batteries yet!)

YouHaveBeenOutbid · 25/10/2013 20:43

I'm guessing from your username you're in Scotland? There's a Fossil outlet in Livington too :)

YouHaveBeenOutbid · 25/10/2013 20:43

Livingston, even!
