...for a Christmas drinks party.

The rub: not masses of nearby shops (a Debenhams, a second local department store with all the usual suspects (Whistles etc), plus small versions of Top Shop, Monsoon, H&M etc).

Me: size 8-10, dark shoulder-length hair, short-ish (5'2''), flabby post-preg tum.

(In detail: quite good legs, flabby upper arms - hate sleevless, average chest, podgy stomach. Wooh, quel scorcher eh.)

The look: evening do, at a friend's so not formal, but maybe cool/gorgeous/casual glam. Is that too much to ask? Hmmm.

HEEELP! Party is next Saturday. None of my old clothes work any more...

Ta!

I'm same size as you and I've just bought a tailored black dress from warehouse that is incredibly flattering. It's sleeveless tho so you'll need a shrug or cool cardy if u hate your arms. I don't know how to link on phone but go on the site it was £65 now £40 it also comes in red. It has v neck, structured gravy black cotton with stretch.

Hoping the link works. I paid £50 for mine Sad

Good luck x

Structured cotton not gravy haha

Ah cheers Tuppen - are you also my height? (5'2ish) The worst thing with v-necks is when they cut too low since are made for someone taller. BUT I will go and take a look - I've had surprising success at Warehouse of late...
What sort of shoes are you wearing with?
Thanks oh style advisor :)

Yes I'm small too, prob 5"1/5"2.
Honestly it looks really dull on the Model but it's good on. The panelling bit at front very flattering! If your do is not final I'd get a trendy Cardigan to go over or a blazer and dress down your shoes. I'm wearing mine to a posh bday party with high heels.
(that I can't walk in). Wink
