Jeans shopping tomorrow...help!

Ok! So need two pairs - smart skinnys for wearing with nice tops and heels and comfy ones to wear with flats, previously loved boyfriend ones but can't seem to find them, am size 8 on bottom and 10 on top, am only 5 1, so what styles/colours/shops do you recommend and (stupid question- been long time since bought jeans) do the skinnies get looser as you wear them? Tax

I am the same kind of size as you. What is your budget? I generally like Topshop jeans, and also recently bought some coloured (beige pair and navy pair - I know, sound horrible, but they're not, honestly!) skinnies from River Island. I like slightly darker denim, but tend to avoid anything that looks too dyed, mainly because I crawl about on the floor with the children lots so the colour comes out and they look rubbish very quickly.

If you have time for raking, I have managed to get some great jeans bargains in TK Maxx in the past - got a couple of pairs of Earl jeans from there which I loved (we are talking over 5 years ago though, not quite sure what they have in these days).

Skinnies do usually get looser as you wear them (and if that slightly stretchy denim, will gain an inch or so round the waist), so buy the tightest ones that you can get fastened and move around in.

I just bought some flared jeans abroad and really like them, but the only thing similar I've seen here was in H&M (and I didn't actually like them when I tried them on).

Yes agree that topshop is good - baxters are nice and they do those in a 26 waist and 30 length which I imagine would be perfect for you.

I don't rate gap for jeans as find they stretch too much.

yes topshop baxters, bought them a month ago and love them, am size 8 and 5'1, I got the 30" leg and hey presto- no hem needed!! Also recommend the primark skinnies for £9, got a black pair for going out so not sure how they wear/wash. I've always found River Island jeans suit my shape too
