For a good few years now I have been a skinnies + ballet pumps / boots girl. However I have just been on holiday and bought a couple of pairs of very nice (IMO) flared jeans (Joe's, bargain price in an outlet shop) - one pair flares from below the knee, and one from much higher (kind of a wide leg style). I'm only little so think they'd look better with a heel - they would look nice in the summer with a chunky wedge style, but what to wear in the winter? Would ankle boots just be too awful? I am looking for something reasonably practical, i.e. that I can actually walk / chase toddlers in, and plan to wear my lovely new jeans with fitted jumpers.
