Can't open link on my phone. But would hazard a guess anything with zebra and hearts in the discription wouldn't be a bit... Erm... Mutton dressed as lamb maybe?

worldgonecrazy · 07/12/2011 08:55

Yes.

madammecholet · 07/12/2011 08:56

age is immaterial imo, its what you wear it with...as long as you don't wear it with hareem trousers or a sequin mini skirt it'll be fine.....

here

I'm just not loving the whole animal thing on a jumper though and think the black and white is a bit harsh...would have been better in brown/camel.

catsareevil · 07/12/2011 08:56

Didnt you save one from the eighties Grin

Im slightly younger than you, and I wouldnt wear that, mostly because it looks so much like the horrible eighties style jumpers that I couldnt bear to be seen in it, but if you would feel OK in it and think you could cary it off then I dont think you should worry about your age.

KristinaM · 07/12/2011 08:57

No,not too young, if you have the figure -skinny black jeans and those all saints style boots would look great

Pagwatch · 07/12/2011 09:04

I would assume you also wore Disney nightwear.

sinead300 · 07/12/2011 09:05

oh,too old? im confused

madammecholet · 07/12/2011 09:05

I really fail to see what her age has to do with it? Surely we shouldn't be shackled by age.... its HOW you wear it that can make it look like mutton..

A 14 yr old can look as stupid in this jumper as a 38yr old could given the wrong styling.

winterfox · 07/12/2011 09:06

hardy the same as disney and they're everywhere, topshop has a lovely beige one with a fox on (which is nicer imo!) - if you want to get it get it!

it's ok but you'd have to love zebras. better than dull phase 8 or white stuff

french connection did some lovely ones with rabbits Grin

cholet is right, it's all down to styling

Dotty342kids · 07/12/2011 09:12

I love it! Wear with black / red skinnies and attitude and you'll be fine! I hate this whole "you're too old for things like that" approach. If you have the figure and the attitude to carry it off then it will be gorgeous...

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 07/12/2011 09:12

It does look particually cheap and nasty in white, or is that the hearts? Or the zebra?

Obviously you should wear whatever floats your boat. Have to admit though I would feel like a total twat in either, the Topshop fox is far nicer.

Pagwatch · 07/12/2011 09:16

It's not that it is too young for someone who is 38, it is that it is too young for anyone who is older than about 15. Not least because it looks a bit tacky and wolef like.
Teenagers can get away with things that are cheap and cutesy.
It is teenage. Hello kitty wearers

notyummy · 07/12/2011 09:16

I don't like it, but I agree that the age thing shouldn't be the reason why you wear it or not. It should be whether it suits you and you think you can pull it off.

Blakey35 · 07/12/2011 09:16

I agree that it depends how you wear it - with red skinny jeans and biker boots it could look really good!

madammecholet · 07/12/2011 09:17

Topshop one is easier to wear imo.... softer colour palate.

Pagwatch · 07/12/2011 09:21

Oooh isn't it interesting!
I think age should not be a barrier to most things clothes wise. I get quite irritated by 'i am 40, do I have to cut my hair' and 'is this too short for me, I'm 35' etc.

But this thread has made me realise I do have limits. Cutsey & tacky. When you are a woman rather than a girl you can wear it.

PrimarkMan · 07/12/2011 09:37

Agree with Pagwatch: don't like all this worrying about age and clothes. If you like it and think you look good in it wear it!

That said, I don't particularly like the top. But not, I think, due to age.

startail · 07/12/2011 09:55

The zebra top? Just no!!! Sorry, I can't see anyone over 7 in that top.
I had various slightly similar as a student in the 80's, but I can't see 10Y DD2 wearing that today.

GrimmaTheNome · 07/12/2011 09:58

At 38 you should be old enough to know that a white top with black printing is totally impractical. Grin

natashakaplinkyplop · 07/12/2011 09:58

I'm 39 and I wouldn't wear it, but that's not due to my age, but because I think it's hideous.
Sorry!
