Wide plate GHDs - are they worth the extra expense?

I have very thick, long, wavy hair and am considering taking the plunge and getting some GHDs. My hair is so thick and difficult to get through with my current straightners I am wondering whether it might help speed things up if i was to get to wide plate GHDs rather than the regular.

I have very thick, long, wavy hair and use the wide plate GHDs, they are great, takes me about half the amount of time to staighten my hair now compared to the the narrow GHDs i used previously.

Yes, totally worth it! Mine arrived yesterday and they are brilliant and far quicker than when I use my mum's narrow GHDs.

Yep, brilliant. I have both the normal sized ones and the wider ones and I only use the wider ones for my approx collarbone to shoulder blade length hair (depending on how long it's been between cuts )

Much, much faster and very easy to use.

I have the wider plate ones and definitely much quicker than the narrow ones (tried it at friend's house). The wider plates does work through the hair much quicker. Definitely recommends the wider plates for longer and/or thicker hair .

That's great! Wide plates it is. My hair takes up so much time I realised the last time I wore it down was for a wedding I went to in August
