Moisturiser help for my poor sore eyes

Sad

I have dreadful dry skin around my eyes - which of course means I get lines. Mostly I combat this with some eye cream of some sort which helps. But atm I am suffering with a cold, CH at home and air-con at work and my eyes are sore and streaming. And anything I apply around my eyes to ease the dryness makes them more sore and teary.

What is the best thing? I have used almond oil before but that makes them bad this time. Any tips?

Are you sure you haven't got conjunctivitis? I wouldn't have thought that dry skin would make your actual eyes sore and streaming. I'm maybe get some eye drops and see if that helps, you can get the antibiotic eyedrops over the counter from a pharamcist.

The skin around my eyes was so raw from being generally shattered everything stung and hurt. I've found the Simple eye cream stuff in a tiny little tube is good, it doesn't irritate at least. My eyes are still fucked, I still look like I need to sleep for a year and keep off the heroin but it isn't raw anymore.

Thanks.

viva - the actual eyes themselves are dry too. I use a spray called optimist (or something like that - I left it at home this morning) because the optician tells me my the oil ducts in my eyes get blocked. But that doesn't help the skin around the eyes. It's not conjuctivitis though - no eye snot Grin

Indith - I will try that. I think I will have to permanently lay off the anti-wrinkle stuff though.

Whilst this stuff doesn't come in a pretty cosmetics sized tube it really works for me: eumobase or very boring aqueous cream. Both from the pharmacy

Thanks petesmum. I will pop in on the way home.

I use Clinique extra rich eye cream. But sometimes when my eyes water they still sting. What i have a problem with is very mild Blepharitis [inflammation of the lining ]the inner rims of my eye sometimes become pink and inflamed.I has this diagnosed when i had my eyes lasered. It gets worse at temperature extremes. You can clean the eye margins with a cotton wool bud dipped and warm cooled water mixed with Johnsons baby shampoo and this really helps clear up any oily secretions and soothe my eyes. However i only do this when needed.Incidentally i also have other allergies as blepharitis is caused by an allergic reaction apparently.

I use Clinique All About Eyes cream and love it, would strongly recommend, but I do think to be on the safe side it seems like you might need a quick check up, possibly eye drops or something, before adding extra products to the area.
