Three Day Straight - its a miracle.

Well it must be Christmas and I must have been really good because I woke up with "Good Hair" this morning.

It's the John Frieda 3 day straight stuff. I can't vouch for three days yet but the next day is pretty impressive. I've got really thick, very wavy hair which is as frizzy as wire wool this time of year.

I'm happy

I've read about that stuff and wondered if it was any good! Is it expensive? How much of a faff to apply?
My hair's not curly but it is wavy and goes frizzy, especially at the moment!

Makingchanges · 06/12/2011 14:25

I think it's fantastic. Although don't do what I did last night and put it on when wet, leave hair to dry and forget to straighten before I went to bed. Woke up with it stuck out in all directions and impossible to straighten. It find of stuck it in sticking out position. Whoops

When I did follow the instructions it lasted 3 days and even DH noticed.

Makingchanges · 06/12/2011 14:25

Its about £6 and no faff. Just spray when wet and then you should dry and straighten like normal.

Alouisee · 06/12/2011 14:40

Come to think of it I havn't even brushed my hair today Confused I put it in a "bath hair bun" when I had a shower and just ran my fingers through it afterwards.

I am in agreement. It's fab stuff. Also keeps humidity at bay. I can go for more than 3 days Xmas Wink
I barely brush my hair... I always stock pile when its on offer at boots etc..

Littlepumpkinpie · 07/12/2011 00:21

What on EARTH am I doing wrong then because it gives my hair the wildness look the next day I wake to a right barnet.

Franup · 07/12/2011 06:59

I hate it and I coat my hair in all sorts of serums, including Frizz-ease. I tried using less, but I just find it really drying and that my hair doesn't end up with any shine after I styled it.

I have thickish hair that goes frizzy very easily, as opposed to wavy or curly hair.

Alouisee · 07/12/2011 07:07

I've woken up after two nights now and it's still great.

Do you use straighteners littlepumpkinpie?

bigTillyMincepie · 07/12/2011 07:14

Do you have to use the wet-to-dry straighteners to straighten it, or can you blow-dry and then straighten?

Alouisee · 07/12/2011 07:30

I blow dried then straightened. Next time I'll try the Babyliss big hair and see how that lasts.

bigTillyMincepie · 07/12/2011 07:58

Might just have to try it...

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/12/2011 09:12

Do you need any other heat protecting sprays with it? I use aveda smooth control style prep and glossing treatment usually.

I think it's on offer at the moment ladies in boots.

HarlotOTara · 07/12/2011 09:42

Does it mean you don't wash your hair for three days?

Alouisee · 07/12/2011 11:06

Yes - it says it lasts for 3 days or your next shampoo, whichever happens first.

It is good but not as good as Tigi blow out balm that someone suggested on here which is amazing!

ChristinedePizanne · 07/12/2011 11:12

Do it work if you don't use straighteners? My hair looks horrid straight but I use a Big Hair to smooth it a bit and give it slightly more groomed looking waves

Alouisee · 07/12/2011 11:30

I don't know, I'll be trying that tomorrow though.

I found that it did not work with the bbh :-(

But it is sublime when you have blowdried and straightened your hair.

chickenmug · 08/12/2011 08:39

Inspired by this thread I went out and bought some yesterday. For all you regular users superdrug has two John Frieda products for £7.49 - Normal price is £5.99.

I was tempted to buy two but I have a bit of a love hate relationship with John Frieda. Hopefully this will work!

Littlepumpkinpie · 08/12/2011 11:06

Yes I straighten it. Normally I do not use any styling products on my hair but in this windy weather I thought I would try something. Today I am washing my hair and not putting ANYTHING on it apart from my Trevour Sorbi uva spray. My hair did not need that three day straight stuff really will just leave my hair alone as the feel of my hair after that stuff went on it was vile.

Alouisee · 08/12/2011 13:27

I'm on my third morning after using it and it's still looking really good. Despite dog walking in a mini gale this morning. I'm going to be a dirty slattern and not wash it til tomorrow.
