In the North of Scotland, a high of about 2 degrees this week so far, belatedly thinking about getting some more warm clothes. Do any of you have these?

Oooooh!

How do uniqlo sizes come up? I've never ordered from them before.

TapselteerieO · 06/12/2011 13:04

That is okay midnight, I think their jeans can be quite generous, I haven't bought them but have seen comments on S&B about their sizing before.

OK. I might give those a try then and turn the thermostat down a notch. Has to be cheaper than Scottish Gas!

It's blimmin chilly isn't it? (I'm in the Central Belt)

SilkStalkings · 06/12/2011 13:32

Shock Just reading the product info - is that really a problem then? Have never noticed skinny jeans being less warm than regular ones.

TapselteerieO · 06/12/2011 13:33

I have just ordered them - free delivery was the final temptation, I will let you know what they are like. It is cold, I need sheepskin slippers next I think.

Did you watch Frozen Planet the other day - the reindeer clothes looked pretty toasty....

Ah but you live in the balmy south, no doubt. Any slight increase in body temp is more than welcome up here in the frozen wastes of Scotland.

All jeans are cold, relative to other sorts of trousers, ime.

TapselteerieO · 06/12/2011 13:35

Silk do you not find jeans a bit nippy in winter? I usually wear thermals under mine - but temperatures up here have been well below zero (-15) in the last couple of winters, even during the day.

I've ordered them too! Am on a Christmas present roll today, so just one more little parcel won't do any harm...

I already have sheepskin slippers Grin. There is 15% off everything at Celtic Sheepskin with Code GIFT15 atm, by the way.

DP has some ri.dic.u.lous North Face slippers that look like little foot duvets. He says they are 'too hot' (nosuchthing, IMHO).

TapselteerieO · 06/12/2011 13:57

Are they the ones they do for children too? I need slippers for both children.

Will have a look at CS, cheers for that code too. We can discuss our jeans when they arrive - I will have to take a few inches off the jeans if they are any good.

Oh me too I expect, am shortarse always too short in the leg.

midnightexpress · 06/12/2011 14:48

And yy, CS do lovely children's slippers, though my two seem to prefer bare feet even in the depths of winter.

SilkStalkings · 06/12/2011 14:56

LOL yes I do live in the balmy SouthGrin. But nope, I've always thought jeans were the warmest trousers there were (short of woollen or salopettes but I'm not a slacks kind of girl. I am starting to find leggings a bit chilly this month so will move into jeans soon!

midnightexpress · 06/12/2011 16:13

I hope you are not implying that we would be slacks kind of girls, Silkstalkings?

SilkStalkings · 06/12/2011 22:06

LOL I have very little imagination. If I try to picture trousers that aren't jeans I just get an image of Farrah SlacksGrin.

thisisyesterday · 06/12/2011 22:07

well i love the heattech tops... so i reckon these could be a good buy

Nevertooearlyforcake · 06/12/2011 22:30

What is Heattech? I've noticed adverts and am intrigued by how it works - and indeed if it does actually work!

LDNmummy · 07/12/2011 01:14

I really feel the cold to an extreme and knowing pushing a buggy around this winter meant not having my hands free to hug my coat around myself against the coldest weather, I looked into HeatTech clothing and have started off by investing in a few tops.

They are brilliant and surprisingly good at keeping me warm. I am too lazy to read up on how it works, but I love what it does and am going to invest in a few more HeatTech items. I will definitely be going in-store to see if the jeans will fit me.

midnightexpress · 08/12/2011 16:44

Oooh tapselteerie, the delivery man has just battled through the storm and delivered my jeans! I'll report back once it starts snowing again tomorrow! Grin

Hope you're keeping safe up there - it's WIIIIIIILD, isn't it?

TapselteerieO · 08/12/2011 21:51

Yeah, I got mine too, and can confirm they are warmer than my normal jeans.

It is wild here, lights keep flickering but still have electricity for now, need to bake another cake for the Christmas fair before I go to bed.

Will be out all day tomorrow, but will check in at some point to see what you think - I am keeping them.
