Is this outfit muttony or not??

I am fed up of wearing jeans and tops for nights out so am thinking of updating my look for the Christmas season. I am 5ft 6, size 12~14 and mid 40's and don't want to look like a teenager!!! This is the dress I have bought ...

.. it finishes about mid thigh and was thinking of wearing it with black opaque tights and black patent court shoes, so no flesh will be on show! Any thoughts?

Lovely dress - you will get loads of wear out of it - you can dress it down with a biker jacket afterwards. Just the right amount of sparkle to 'lift' a lunchtime outfit too.
My friend wore v similar last year on a weekend away - was v jealous of it. Might have to have a wee trip to Debenhams myself.
